Impact of Zoning Strategy on Heating Load, Heating Demand, Comfort and Air Quality for a Flat Equipped with Different Ventilation Systems
Building simulation plays a pivotal role in optimizing energy performance and indoor comfort in residential structures. However, it is well known that the adoption of dynamic simulations is time-consuming in terms of the time required for modelling and for the simulation itself. This makes it particularly important to create the model as simplified as possible but detailed enough to be able to answer the design questions. In order to find the trade-off, the quality of the available data/information has to be taken into account too. This study delves into the significance of comparing results obtained from simplified single thermal zone building simulations against their more detailed multi-thermal zone counterparts, particularly in the context of analysing flats equipped with mechanical ventilation systems.
