Firmware Programming for Smart Buildings

When actively rewriting firmware, the microcontroller initiates the process, asks for the firmware, and starts writing it. In passive mode, the microcontroller firmware is utilized by the host device to initiate the process. There are two methods for firmware download: one is through a cable connection such as USB, serial (UART), JTAG with a hybrid version, and the other is through a cable connection like WiFi with Bluetooth.

Abstract

When actively rewriting firmware, the microcontroller initiates the process, asks for the firmware, and starts writing it. In passive mode, the microcontroller firmware is utilized by the host device to initiate the process. There are two methods for firmware download: one is through a cable connection such as USB, serial (UART), JTAG with a hybrid version, and the other is through a cable connection like WiFi with Bluetooth.
