Digital Communication Capabilities of Low Voltage Circuit Breakers
Of all the electrical equipment used in power systems, switching equipment occupies the most important position. They are found in installations intended for the production, transformation, transmission and distribution of electricity. Switching equipment depends on the nature of the interrupted currents and their field of application. The objective of this paper is to deepen the knowledge regarding the principles of operation of this equipment, the correct choice of protective equipment, the understanding of the notion of selectivity and testing according to their standards. The proposed paper will not only contribute to the in-depth understanding of current technologies in the field of command, control and monitoring of electrical circuits, but will also provide new perspectives for the future development of solutions in this field. This is an opportunity to explore and contribute to the continuous advancement of electrical engineering in the context of an increasingly digital and interconnected world. At the same time, the scientific work is motivated by the growing importance of energy efficiency, safety and automation in the field of electrical engineering. Today, modern circuit breakers technologies offer advanced control and protection functions, significantly contributing to process optimization in various industrial, residential and other applications. In the final part, an experimental stand was presented to demonstrate the digital capabilities of the new generations of compact low-voltage circuit breakers.
