Partial Discharge Buck-Boost Characteristics of 10kV AC PP Cable Based on Typical Defects
Polypropylene (PP) cable has become a research hotspot for insulated cables due to its good thermoplastic properties and recyclability. By preparing defective sections of PP cables with different defects and building a cable partial discharge (PD) pressure test platform, the defective sections of PP cables with defects were tested by step-up and step-down tests. The PD data of PP cables with different defects at different voltage levels were collected and analyzed. The pulse repetition rate (PRR) and pulse amplitude variation of the PP cable are positively correlated with the voltage level, and only the PRR characteristics of the circumcision cutting knife mark defect are opposite. The test data shows that the pulse amplitude during the voltage reduction process is smaller than that during the voltage increase process, and the partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) is usually smaller than partial discharge extinction voltage (PDEV), indicating that the extinction phenomenon of PD is more likely to occur than its occurrence, except for the opposite characteristic of metal particle defects.
