Characterization of the Loads Connected to the Power Network
As more and more electronic devices enter the market, they can cause electromagnetic interference leading to malfunction. For the characterization of an electrical load fed from the power network, regardless of its type, an equipment was designed that, based on the acquired data (current, voltage), determines the type of load and the disturbances that they, possibly, produce in the power network. For this, a electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter was used so that the signals are acquired before and after the filter, in order to have a clear depiction of the behavior of the load. To protect electronic devices and systems, EMI filters are used to eliminate non-compliant signals. The equipment is very flexible in the presentation of the analyzed quantities, which allows an adaptation or expansion for what is needed. Thus, in addition to the main measured and calculated quantities, the virtual instrument also performs a harmonic analysis of the signals.
