Solar Photovoltaic Systems Challenges in Industrial Network Installations

Adoption of solar photovoltaic systems, mainly to the governmental policies and solution availabilities, is nowadays at one of the higher rates in the last decades. Usually, the integration of such systems is based on designs that considers own consumption needs and profits from electricity supplied to the power grid. Besides these solution adoptions are considered based not only on technical point of view but on economical costs consisting mostly on the initial investments. In this paper the challenges raised from this approach are investigated mainly due to electricity profile consumptions and electricity prices. An improvement is also proposed based on a cost-benefit optimization approach. A case study analysis and its improvement solution are highlighted along with general recommendations for future photovoltaic deployment and solution integration.
