S-Box Generation through Chaotic Maps
Nowadays, digital technology is present everywhere. At least 66% of the world’s population uses the Internet. On the other hand, the rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) has significantly impacted various sectors by integrating smart objects into daily life. This integration is not just a trend but a potential game-changer, enhancing convenience and efficiency. However, security has become a critical concern as IoT applications expand due to rising vulnerabilities and potential threats. Addressing these security challenges is essential for the safe and reliable deployment of IoT technologies across industries, ensuring that we can continue to enjoy the positive impact of IoT. This work analyzes the properties of a discrete mapping without fixed points and its application to create substitution boxes (S-boxes). According to the SAC and BIC tests, the cryptographic characteristics of the S-box are promising.
