Research on Grid-Connected and Off-Grid Smooth Switching Strategy of PMSG Converter Based on Grid Forming Control
Grid-forming converters can operate synchronously with power grid and stably in islanding mode when disconnected from the grid. How to maintain voltage and frequency stability, reduce current surges, and ensure the continuity and reliability of power supply during mode switching is a key issue that urgently needs to be addressed of wind power. To improve the transient stability of the switching process, this paper dynamically adjusts the inverter reference power, reducing voltage and current surges effectively during the switching process. Finally, a Hardware-in-the-Loop platform was built using RT-LAB and RTU-BOX, and the results of the smooth switching between gird-connected and off-grid strategy for the grid-forming converter based on PMSG were verified effectively.
