Optimizing MIMO Planar Structures for 2.4 GHz Applications
Planar antennas are an integral part of our daily lives, found in numerous devices such as mobile phones, tablets, IoT and wearable devices, as well as access points, RFID, NFC, and automotive systems. Enhancing these antennas involves increasing their bandwidth or gain. This paper starts by optimizing a single planar patch antenna by modifying its geometrical characteristics by chamfering or rounding their corners and inserting some slots on the radiating patch and then incorporates it into a MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) system. The efficiency of MIMO configurations is demonstrated, and key parameters such as the Effective Correlation Coefficient (ECC) and Diversity Gain (DG) are calculated to better understand their performance and achieve optimal results.
