Design of a Single-Phase Asynchronous Motor Prototype by Overlaying the Value Analysis Method on Dynamic Simulation
Technical studies on the single-phase asynchronous motor are ongoing and generally focus on improving its performance, efficiency, and control through optimizing the design of windings, materials used, and the geometry of motor components-elements that are part of this research’s analysis. This study involves a combined methodology for the incremental innovation of the single-phase asynchronous motor by merging value analysis and engineering methods applied to the device’s main functions, as users appreciate, with the modelling and dynamic simulation method of the device in the computerized MotorCad environment. The paper presents the stages of designing and redesigning a singlephase asynchronous motor with a new type of rotor using copper bars. The stages of physically constructing the motor are presented, along with a comparative analysis of its performance against a classic motor. Improvement decisions for certain characteristics of the device are based on the value analysis and engineering technique.
