Advanced Thermal Management Techniques for Electric Motors: A Comparative Analysis

It is really important to understand and manage thermal conditions well in order to make electric motors perform their best and be reliable. This is particularly essential in scenarios involving electric vehicles. This paper presents an examination of the primary thermal modeling methodologies, including the finite element model (FEM), fluid dynamics (CFD) and lumped parameter thermal network (LPTM). This article compares several analysis methods based on their accuracy, dependability, and complexity. The aim is to determine the most suitable thermal analysis method for a certain application or system. In order to comprehend and perform a technical analysis, it is necessary to begin with the fundamental principles of heat transfer, namely conduction, convection, and radiation. These concepts are aimed at understanding the dissipation of heat in electrical motors.
