Autonomous Control for Smart E-Bike Platoons
Research interest in vehicles platoons has soared in the past few years, especially in the context of autonomous cars. On the other hand, there has been little research based on smart autonomous E-bike platforms. Cooperative cycling, known as platooning, involves closely grouped E-bikes guided by autonomous control, boosting both speed and safety. This enhances road safety and capacity. This research paper presents a target tracking system coupled with autonomous steering and throttle control in Smart E-bikes. The objective is to maintain a secure distance from the platoon leader and accurately follow its trajectory, thereby enabling autonomous platooning in E-bikes. This integration of advanced technologies holds the potential to revolutionize urban mobility, offering a safer, more efficient, and environmentally-friendly mode of transportation.
