High-performance thermal insulating polyamide 6/66–cesium tungsten bronze composite hollow fiber via melt spinning and melt mixing
We have successfully used melt spinning and melt mixing, which are established manufacturing procedures in the textile industry, to create a biomimetic polyamide 6/66–cesium tungsten bronze (PA6/66–Cs 0.33 WO 3 ) composite hollow fiber. This hollow fiber has an elliptical form, with a width of around 18 µm and a wall thickness of approximately 3–5 µm. It has a uniform distribution of Cs 0.33 WO 3 and is sufficiently strong, light, and flexible to be woven into fabric. The woven fabric has high thermal shielding qualities and efficiently absorbs solar heat. Conduction and convection heat loss are minimized by hollow fiber architectures, whereas light absorption is improved by Cs 0.33 WO 3 . Finally, the fabric performs exceptionally well in terms of ultraviolet protection. As a result, it has a lot of potential for utilization in winter clothing.
