The effect of ash slag on the drying of a ceramic sample based on non-ferrous metallurgy waste
The introduction of ash slag into the ceramic composition as a desiccant, which is a non-shrinkable material, contributes to a more uniform distribution of moisture in the sample and its effective removal during drying. This also has a positive effect on the molding and drying processes of ceramic products. Ash slag must be introduced into ceramic masses to reduce shrinkage during drying, increase moisture conductivity, however, it should be borne in mind that this reduces the strength of ceramic products during compression. Optimal compositions for effective drying contain 20‒24 % ash slag. A regression analysis method was used to predict the results that were not included in the experiment. Ill. 7. Ref. 31. Tab. 7.
