RELAÇÃO ENTRE O USO INDISCRIMINADO DE AINES E COMPROMETIMENTO RENAL
INTRODUCTION: The use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is a common practice in various clinical settings, often motivated by the need to relieve conditions such as pain and inflammation, since they have analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory actions. However, their indiscriminate use can have consequences, especially when it comes to renal impairment. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the prevalence of indiscriminate use of NSAIDs and their renal implications in a Basic Health Unit in Guanambi-BA. METHODOLOGY: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a convenience sample at the Eurivaldo Cardoso Vieira BHU in Guanambi-BA. The data was analyzed by calculating the absolute (N) and relative (%) frequencies of the selected variables. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The study found a predominance of people aged between 26 and 40 years old, and the most common medications were diclofenac, nimesulide and ibuprofen, used to treat joint/muscle pain, headaches and colic. CONCLUSION: With the information presented in this study on the relationship between the indiscriminate use of NSAIDs and kidney impairment, it is clear how much these medications are used in people's daily lives to relieve the signs and symptoms of mainly acute conditions among people who work, to reduce the inflammatory effects of different pathologies.
