STUDI KOMPARATIF SISTEM PENDIDIKAN INDONESIA DENGAN FINLANDIA

This study aims to analyze and compare the basic education systems in Indonesia and Finland with a focus on learning approaches, teaching methods, evaluation, learner engagement and technology utilization. The Finnish education system is known globally for its holistic approach that emphasizes character development, creativity and collaborative skills through project-based learning, as well as formative and continuous evaluation. On the other hand, the Indonesian education system is still dominated by a results-oriented approach that focuses on academic achievement through top-down teaching methods, with the teacher as the center and students as passive recipients of information. This study reveals that Finland has significant advantages in creating an inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation of learners, as well as in the integration of technology to support learning. In contrast, in Indonesia, learner engagement and the use of technology in the teaching-learning process is still limited, with the main focus on exam preparation and grade attainment. This research suggests that aspects such as equitable access to education, utilization of technology and more comprehensive evaluation methods in the Finnish education system can be an inspiration for Indonesia to develop a more adaptive basic education model that is relevant to the demands of 21st century education.
