Hematological and biochemical indicators of the blood of young piglets fed with the “Globigen Jump Start” feed additive

The article discusses the issue of increasing the adaptability of piglets in the postnatal period under the influence of the “Globigen Jump Start” feed additive in the conditions of intensive breeding technologies. The experiment aims to study the state of health of animals fed with the “Globigen Jump Start” feed additive. The research was carried out at the pig complex of LLC “Barkom”, village Dublyany, Sambirsky district, Lviv region. Clinically healthy piglets of early age, born from sows of RIS genetics of the Great White breed, which had 2–3 farrowing, were selected for the study. From the 5th day of life, piglets were fed pre-starter compound feed in loose form. For the experimental group, the feed additive “Globigen Jump Start” was introduced into the combined feed in 2 kg/t of finished feed. According to the research results, the growth of erythrocytes during the 5th, 14th, and 28th days of life was established by 8.54, 9.60, and 9.78 %, respectively, and on the 5th day of life, the hemoglobin level was significantly higher by 14.32 % (P > 0, 05) than in piglets of the control group. In turn, this led to a probable increase in the average volume of erythrocytes by 6.53 % (P < 0.05). The obtained data indicate a positive effect on hemoglobin synthesis and the oxygen transport function of the blood. The researched feed supplement also had an effect on the adaptive process of piglets, which was manifested in a probable increase in leukocytes on the 5th and 14th days – 49.13 % (P < 0.05) and 28.64 % (P > 0.05). According to the results of biochemical studies, a positive effect on the protein-synthesizing function of the liver was established, which was reflected in increased albumin by 28.66 % (P < 0.05) in piglets of the experimental group on the 28th day of life. There was also a decrease in the activity of aspartate aminotransferase by 11.82 % (P < 0.05) and alanine aminotransferase – by 12.89 % (P > 0.05), and aminotransferases increased in the control group.
