THE MATERIAL AND LIVING SITUATION OF IMMIGRANTS FROM UKRAINE IN THE NORTHEASTERN REGIONS OF POLAND

The aim of the article is to identify and assess the material and living situation of immigrants from Ukraine. The assessment was based on interviews conducted with 200 Ukrainian citizens who arrived in four north-eastern regions of Poland, which are also part of the eastern border of the European Union. Interviews with immigrants were conducted using an author's questionnaire developed in Ukrainian. Based on the collected empirical material, it can be concluded that the newcomers to Poland are well-educated people, which made it easier for them to find a job and provide themselves and their children who came with them with basic social and living conditions. The presented research results are, on the one hand, a supplement and enrichment of knowledge on the subject of research, and on the other hand, they can be suggestions for law-makers and managers of business entities and local government administration units in the field of organizing basic social and living conditions for immigrants.
