Addressing traffic jams for sustainable mobility: field survey and statistics as essential tools; Case of Chlef- Algeria
Maintaining sustainable mobility is becoming increasingly difficult. This article explores an innovative IT solution to reduce traffic congestion and promote sustainable mobility in urban environments. Traffic congestion has become a problem that is damaging the environment, the economy and people's quality of life. To tackle this complex challenge, the researchers carried out in-depth field surveys in densely populated urban areas, followed by an analysis using operational mathematical techniques, making it possible to re-analyse the data by identifying the main points of congestion and proposing logical mathematical solutions. Mathematical methods can effectively solve this problem by proposing solutions to decision-makers. Thanks to operational mathematical calculations carried out in the field, the approach demonstrated in this study is effective in optimising infrastructures, favouring public transport and proposing solutions such as morphological or organisational solutions. This article shows that field surveys and statistics can be used to improve people's quality of life while helping to protect the environment.
