An IoT reliable and energy-aware multi-path routing algorithm

The Internet of Things industry is growing steadily, creating numerous opportunities to exploit sensor data. A wireless sensor network (WSNs) are independent, spatially distributed sensors that monitor physical or environmental constraints and transmit their data cooperatively with each other to the central location. By connecting these sensors to the Internet, they become an integral component of the Internet of Things. Hence, the Internet of Things will face the same challenges in terms of energy, limited computation, and difficulty in routing data as the network of wireless sensors. In this paper, the proposed approach will discuss how to increase the lifetime of the sensor in an IoT environment by taking into account reliability and energy limitation. The proposed distributed algorithm reduces re-transmissions by considering the residual energy of each IoT sensor and the reliability of the path links in an unreliable environment for effective routing. Skyline technology determines the most efficient routes based on reliability and energy. Based on the results obtained, the proposed routing algorithm outperforms the significant improvement in comparative research papers, which helps determine the best paths in an environment that requires high-speed data processing and routing.
