DIMENSIONAMENTO E PROCESSO DE FABRICAÇÃO DE UM PUNÇÃO
This work addresses the design and manufacturing process of a punch used in cutting operations, essential components in the part manufacturing industry. Proper design of a punch is crucial to ensure the safety and efficiency of operations, preventing structural and operational failures. A well-designed punch not only ensures the integrity of the cutting process but also improves the final product quality, reducing costs and waste. Machining plays a key role in the manufacturing of the punch, ensuring that its dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish meet the design requirements. Machining techniques such as milling, turning, and grinding are used to achieve the desired geometry, while optimized cutting speed and feed parameters are adjusted to ensure high-quality surfaces and improve the punch’s wear resistance. VND steel, known for its high wear resistance and durability, is used in the manufacturing process, ensuring a longer service life and better performance in cutting operations. This steel is particularly suitable for applications requiring high abrasion resistance, making the punch more robust and efficient to withstand the demanding working conditions in industrial environments. This study also analyzes the impact of variables such as material properties, friction between the punch and aluminum profile, and displacements during the cutting process, allowing adjustments to be made for the creation of a more efficient punch with a longer service life.
