Cover Feature: SuFEx‐Functionalized Quinones via Ruthenium‐Catalyzed C−H Alkenylation: A Potential Building Block for Bioactivity Valorization (Chem. Asian J. 22/2024)

A direct and modular C-H activation protocol has been employed to develop a novel route for the direct access to ethenesulfonyl-fluorinated 1,4-naphthoquinoidal structures. This culminated in the development of quinone/SuFEx scaffolds with moderate to good yields, utilizing the power of ruthenium catalysis. The identification of prospective trypanocidal prototypes was the result of the evaluation of these new quinoidal/SuFEx hybrids against the trypomastigote forms of Trypanosoma cruzi, the causative agent of Chagas disease. Abstract

This culminated in the development of quinone/SuFEx scaffolds with moderate to good yields, utilizing the power of ruthenium catalysis.
