A Highly-Scalable Parallel Boundary Element Method for the Full-Wave Electromagnetic Analysis of Large Interconnect Networks and Entire Packages
We demonstrate a scalable parallelization strategy for an advanced boundary element method suitable for the full-wave electromagnetic analysis of very large interconnect networks and packages. A new preconditioning technique and charge neutrality enforcement strategy show significant promise to overcome the scalability bottlenecks of existing methods. The proposed method is scaled up to 10,240 cores, extracting the scattering parameters of a complete electronic package in less than 2.5 minutes per excitation and frequency point.
