TRANSTORNOS MENTAIS EM PESSOAS VIVENDO COM HIV: UMA REVISÃO DA LITERATURA
Objective: Analyze the relation between mental disorders and HIV. Methods: This research analyzed the relationship between mental disorders and HIV through an integrative literature review. The study sample comprised meta-analytic articles published between 2020 and 2023. The study addressed the prevalence of mental disorders in people living with HIV (PLHIV), highlighting risk factors, psychosocial impact, and therapeutic interventions. Results: Findings indicate a high prevalence of depression, anxiety, and other mental disorders in PLHIV, exacerbated by stigma and barriers to healthcare access. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mind-body therapies such as meditation and yoga have shown efficacy in reducing depressive symptoms and improving quality of life. The research underscores the need for integrated, multidisciplinary approaches to optimize treatment and psychosocial support. Conclusion: The study concludes that a thorough understanding of this relationship is crucial for developing more effective public policies and health practices, thereby enhancing care and quality of life for PLHIV.
