Reception Energy Loss of GMSK-Modulated Signals with a Narrow Frequency Band and a High Message Rate

The growing number of participants in AIS systems leads to an overload of existing communication channels. One of the methods to solve the problem within the existing framework is to increase the data rate of messages. This article describes methods for increasing the transmission rate of GMSK signals at low values of the normalized frequency band. Using simulation, it is proved that the developed correlation algorithm has an energy gain equal to 1 dB with a narrow frequency band (ΔFT=0.3). The main result is an algorithm that increases the transmission rate of GMSK signals by approximately 2 times with a normalized frequency bandwidth of 0.3 under the conditions of a spectral mask's presence.
