Synthesis and Properties of Heat-Resistant Polyimide Foams based on Various Diamines
Based on esterified dianhydride of 3,3',4,4'-benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid using 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane and 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether, foaming prepolymers and polyimide foams were synthesized. A comparative study of the thermal and mechanical properties of polyimides obtained with various diamines was conducted. The synthesized foams have high heat resistance (the onset of weight loss is observed at 510°C); density varies from 8 to 12 kg/m3; elastic modulus is 39-105 kPa.
