PAPR Reduction using Probabilistic Method for DVB-S2X with FTN Signaling

The purpose of this work is to evaluate the effectiveness of a probabilistic method for reducing PAPR of FTN signals generated based on the DVB-S2, DVB-S2X standards. Simulation model was created based on the lower layer of the scrambler from the DVB-S2X standards. Based on the results obtained, the gain from using the probabilistic method of reducing PAPR was assessed according to the level of the complementary cumulative distribution curve equal to 10−3. As a result, by increasing the symbol rate by 25% and using the probabilistic method with 16 scrambling sequences for PAPR reduction, the gain in PAPR is up to 1.4 dB compared to the case of orthogonal transmission for the DVB-S2X standard.
