Study on Electric Field Distribution Characteristics of Power Cable Joints Under Oscillating Switching Impulse Voltage
In order to assess the insulation performance of HVAC cable joints, it is necessary to calculate the transient electric field distribution in HVAC cable joints. The oscillating switching impulse voltage is decomposed into sinusoidal components by Fourier series analysis, and the electric field distribution of high voltage alternating current(HVAC) cable joints under the oscillating switching impulse voltage is obtained by finite element method of the capacitive-resistive field and the superposition theorem. The transient electric field distribution characteristics of HVAC cable joints is illustrated and summarized.
