Research on a Multi-Functional Epoxy Based Dielectric Film with Excellent High-Temperature Energy Storage Performance
In recent years, with the development of new energy resources, aviation power systems, and microelectronics, the demand for high-temperature energy storage and conversion is increasing. Nevertheless, the most commonly used commercial biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) capacitor film is gradually unable to meet the needs for the limited working temperature. And it is crucial to develop new polymer energy storage thin film materials. Many polymeric materials with high working temperature have been studied, but the temperature upper limit while keeping desirable energy storage performance of the material is still insufficient. A high-performance epoxy energy storage film with wide operating temperature is proposed in this article, from the perspective of adjusting the cross-linked network structure feature by changing the resin functionality. The epoxy energy storage film can maintain good energy storage performance at higher operating temperatures. By adjusting the resin functionality of epoxy resin, the energy storage film material with superior high-temperature energy storage performance can be obtained, which has been experimentally confirmed. This study lays the foundation for the application of epoxy resin as a new type of energy storage material in the fields of new energy generation and conversion.
