Insulation Conditions Assessment Using Time Series Analysis of Partial Discharge Waveform Characteristics
Electrical trees grow under high electrical stress, which are one of the causes of damage to high-voltage insulation systems, are a localized dielectric breakdown which associate with partial discharge (PD). PD detection can be considered one of the most useful tools for diagnosing the insulation state of power equipment in high voltage systems. PD can be used for quality assurance during high-voltage tests to confirm that highvoltage equipment operates with high reliability and efficiency, whereas it is important for diagnosis. In the present work, an experiment has been carried out to show how the PD charge behavior within the tree channel can be altered by the addition of a filler, which can be analyzed by the half-width PD waveform. In addition, the insulation condition was successfully estimated and simulated by using the equivalent circuit model, the change in the depth of the capture level can be simulated by varying the diode on voltage of the first PD waveform, thus the increase in the half-width of the second PD waveform can be produced.
