Investigation of the Electrophysical Properties of Composite Materials Based on Wollastonite and Bacterial Cellulose

The technology of obtaining samples of wollastonite and composite material based on wollastonite and bacterial cellulose is described. The results of measuring the mechanical tensile strength, capillary absorbency and the tangent of the dielectric loss angle are presented. It is shown that the addition of wollastonite particles increases the capillary absorbency of the composite several times, but reduces its mechanical strength similar to the case of adding nanofillers to cellulose materials. It has been found that the addition of particles of some types of wollastonite reduces dielectric losses in the material.

Abstract

The technology of obtaining samples of wollastonite and composite material based on wollastonite and bacterial cellulose is described. The results of measuring the mechanical tensile strength, capillary absorbency and the tangent of the dielectric loss angle are presented. It is shown that the addition of wollastonite particles increases the capillary absorbency of the composite several times, but reduces its mechanical strength similar to the case of adding nanofillers to cellulose materials. It has been found that the addition of particles of some types of wollastonite reduces dielectric losses in the material.
