Experimental Evaluation of Iterative Demodulator of Coded SEFDM-signals with Higher-Order Modulation Subcarriers

This paper addresses the transmission and reception experiment of spectrally efficient frequency division multiplexing signals (SEFDM) reception with high-order modulation methods on subcarriers using NI USRP 2920. An iterative demodulation algorithm in conjunction with message-passing decoder for NR LDPC codes is utilized to demodulate coded SEFDM-signals. Spectral and BER performances of SEFDM-signals with QPSK, QAM-16 on subcarriers at various code rates are considered. In comparison with the results of the simulation, the experiments show approximate results of no more than 0.2 dB energy loss at BER = 10–5 and QAM-16 on the subcarriers. The experimental model allows flexible change of the signal designs and parameters depending on the requirements of various tasks.
