Assessing the social acceptance of electric vehicles on a campus of university

This article investigates, through a survey, the barriers met by a sample of 72 campus users when considering the acquisition of an electric vehicle. The participants were also asked to do a driving test of an electric vehicle. The participants’ perception of the vehicle got assessed before, during and after. Thus, the survey could help identify not only barriers, but also levers for action in encouraging the modal report to an electric car. Results from the first phase showed that 82% of participants would like to acquire an electric vehicle. Yet, among them, 57% stated that they were not in a position to acquire one. Most of them are young people and students. This correlation between the capacity to access and electric vehicle and the age and status is supported by statistical analyses.
