Analysis of the Effect of Geometric Tolerances on Ferrite Core Losses Using a Physical Core Loss Model
Core losses in real magnetic devices can differ from the loss values predicted during a design process based on the nominal core geometry given in the datasheet. This article explores the influence of geometric tolerances on core losses using the CFM2 physical core loss model for ferrites. This model enables to determine the best- and worst-case core losses for a given operating point as functions of the core geometric tolerances.
