Advancing Grid Integration of Photovoltaics with Solid-State Transformer Technology: Control Mechanisms and Conversion Efficiency
This study investigates the combination of sophisticated solid-state transformers (SSTs) with Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverters and Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters in photovoltaic (PV) systems. SSTs perform better than traditional transformers because they offer more control, modularity, and efficiency. Traditional transformers are hampered by their inability to adequately manage dynamic power system requirements. To increase the dependability and effectiveness of PV integrations, the study places a strong emphasis on implementing the direct and quadrature and zero-sequenced (dq0) control approach to handle solar output variations, phase imbalances, and harmonic distortions. Simulation outcomes show how important SSTs are to improving grid connectivity and facilitating the shift to sustainable energy networks.
