5G Photonic-Integrated Milli-Meter Wave Pattern Reconfigurable On-Chip Antenna Design
A novel 5G photonic-integrated mmWave pattern reconfigurable antenna is achieved using Silicon Photonics technology. The on-chip antenna operates at 30 GHz with a size of 3 × 8 mm2. Four different radiation patterns are achieved using four high-power and high-speed Germanium-on-Silicon photodiodes. A unit cell operating as a band-reject filter is designed to enhance the isolation between the photodiodes.
