Particle swarm optimization-based partial transmission sequence technique to reduce PAPR of OFDM signals
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology is a prevalent choice in the realm of wireless transmission. Despite its extensive use, the elevated Crest-to-Mean Power Ratio (CMPR) encountered in OFDM setups hinders their deployment in real-world scenarios. The employment of the Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) strategy is a proven approach to mitigating CMPR, yielding substantial enhancements in its reduction. Yet, the intricacy of the PTS approach escalates with an increase in the count of sub-blocks, posing a difficulty in balancing computational intricacy with efficient CMPR control. This study introduces an optimized PTS algorithm utilizing Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to enhance the minimization of CMPR by fine-tuning the phase components. Our research includes simulation tests that affirm the efficacy of the novel method across varying sub-block counts and contrast it with standard OFDM configurations. The findings suggest that the PSO-enhanced PTS method not only effectively curtails CMPR but also achieves this with reduced computational overhead.
