Design and simulation of energy consumption model for IoT perception layer network

Usually, the energy carried by IoT perception nodes is limited and cannot be replenished, which is one of the bottleneck issues for the practical application of IoT. This article analyzes the energy consumption model for IoT perception layer network. Firstly, the energy consumption characteristics of the perception layer are analyzed. Subsequently, based on the analysis of the node energy consumption model, the linear equidistant energy consumption model and the linear optimized distance energy consumption model was analyzed and studied. Through MATLAB simulation, it has been proved that as the number of hops increases, single hop transmission consumes significantly more energy than multi hop transmission, and the overall energy consumption under optimized distance model is lower.
