Design and Development of a Hybrid Rocker-Bogie and Mecanum Wheels System for Robotic Mobility
Traditional Rocker-Bogie systems, while robust for navigating uneven terrains, often face limitations in maneuverability and directional agility, restricting their deployment in complex environments. This paper presents an innovative integration of the Rocker-Bogie mechanism with Mecanum wheels, aimed at overcoming these limitations. The hybrid design combines the omnidirectional properties of Mecanum wheels with the terrain adaptation of the Rocker-Bogie system to provide improved maneuverability and multidirectional mobility. This research shows that the hybrid system provides better agility and positional precision than traditional setups through kinematic analysis. Mecanum wheels solve particular problems that normal Rocker-Bogie systems cannot, such as the requirement for lateral and rotational movements in confined places. An extensive mathematical model is offered to verify the enhanced mobility and stability, signifying a noteworthy progression in the realm of robotic movement.
