Optimization of Power Quality for Single-Phase Grid-Connected Solar PV Using MANF
This paper introduces a control algorithm based on a modified adaptive notch filter (MANF) aimed at enhancing the power quality for the single-phase grid interfaced solar photovoltaic (PV) system. This paper proposes the modification of the default adaptive notch filter to give the more optimized result for the grid current control. The main goal is to address the mitigation of harmonics from the grid current control. The MANF control is specifically designed to extract the unit template of the grid voltage, and provides significant resistance to power disturbances and thereby ensuring system robustness. To optimize power output from the PV system, a very efficient P&O algorithm based MPPT setup is utilized. A feed-forward term is incorporated to account for the contributions from solar sources, enhancing the system's dynamic response to the changes in solar irradiation. The system's overall performance meets the intended objectives and complies with the IEEE-519 standard, which governs harmonic distortion limits in power systems.
