Outage Analysis of an IRS Assisted Two Users NOMA with Energy Harvesting Relay Selection
Outage of a two user NOMA network using partial selection of an energy harvesting (EH) relay and Intelligent Reflecting Surface (IRS) is investigated in this paper. A decode and forward (DF) relay is selected based on maximum energy harvested from radio frequency (RF) signals of the sources via simultaneous wireless information and power transmission (SWIPT) and forwards the NOMA signal to two destinations with the help of an IRS as the destinations suffer obstacles from direct transmission by relay. Outage of individual user, system outage and ergodic capacity of such network is evaluated in the presence of Rayleigh fading channel. Impact of number of relays, reflecting elements and energy harvesting parameters on outage and ergodic capacity is indicated.
