Security Requirements for e-Tendering: A Systematic Literature Review

The impact of rapid technological development in modern life has led to the tender process being supported by an electronic tender system called e-tendering, which can be fully integrated with the business tender process. The advantages offered bye-tendering compared to the traditional tender process include making the tender process more efficient. However, e-tendering systems are not without problems, one of which is vulnerability to security breaches if security is not integrated into the design and implementation of the system. Therefore, this literature review needs to study the security aspects of e-tendering systems and the challenges in implementing security for e-tendering systems. This study examines research related to e-tendering in the 2004–2024 range that has not been identified properly, using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Using the SLR method, the research will be identified using keywords in searches sourced from the IEEE eXplore digital library. Based on the specified inclusion and exclusion criteria, 32 papers were selected for investigation. The literature results show that security research in e-tendering continues to grow. The results of this study can be used as a guide by researchers and other readers to understand the challenges and security requirements that must exist in e-tendering systems.
