Electro-Mechanical Design Analysis and Implementation of an Indigenous Mars Rover
This paper presents the results of an ongoing research project titled ‘Rover-71’, which focuses on the design and development of an indigenous Mars Rover. The primary goal of this research is to build the Rover that can survive the harsh environment on Mars and also for educational purpose for general understanding. It was planned in such a way that it could run autonomously and also be controlled via a wireless system. This extensive project is subdivided into several stages, and this paper is the outcome of the first portion of the project, where the mechanical and electrical systems were built in an innovative and indigenous way. The results were proven through rigorous simulation, and the optimal design was implemented while taking into account the availability of the components in the local market. The structure was built in the workshop using the blueprint generated by the SolidWorks simulation software. The outcome was successful, as the Rover-71 functioned properly with the ability to collect various data from the surroundings.
