Optimal Control of Solar PV Fed Sensorless BLDC Motor Control Using of PR Controller and EMF Observer

This paper presents Solar PV Fed Sensorless BLDC motor drive with Proportional Resonant (PR) Controller based speed control. Detailed modelling of PR controller-based system is also included in the paper. A Back-EMF observer-based hysteresis band controller for sensorless commutation of the motor is implemented. The system consists of solar PV panel, boost converter, BLDC motor, and PR controller and is simulated in MATLAB Simulink. The system is tested under steady state and dynamic conditions. The results presented in the paper verify the stable operation of the system under all the operation conditions. A detailed performance comparison of presented system with conventional PI controller-based system is also included in the paper. The comparison shows improved speed regulation and better dynamic performance of the system.
