ANÁLISE DAS PROPRIEDADES DE PEÇAS PRÉ-MOLDADAS DE CONCRETO PARA PAVIMENTAÇÃO INTERTRAVADA COM POLIETILENO TEREFTALATO (PET)

The industrial sector has been generating an increasing volume of solid waste. Approximately 359,000 tons of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) were consumed in the year 2021 (ABIPET, 2022). In parallel to this, concern about the impact generated by waste production from construction has led to various studies regarding the possibilities of reusing such waste as aggregates. The objective of this work was to use PET waste in the manufacturing of precast pieces used for interlocked pavement in public sidewalks. Initially, the concrete dosage was determined based on the reference mix. From this point, the natural fine aggregate was replaced with crushed PET waste (5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%). After conducting compression strength tests and analyzing the characteristics of fresh concrete, it was observed that as the percentage of PET increased, the mechanical strength decreased, and workability reduced. The concrete with recycled aggregate yielded good results up to a 15% replacement of the material, achieving 35.73 MPa after 28 days, meeting the characteristic compressive strength requirements.
