Risk Factors for Preeclampsia: Received Wisdom Versus Reality
( BJOG. 2024;131(1):63. doi: 10.1111/1471-0528.17311) Prevention of many pregnancy-related complications can be better accomplished when risk factors (RF) for these conditions are considered. An example of this is preeclampsia (PEC), where the preventative measures of aspirin and calcium have been shown to reduce the incidence of the condition. Preventive strategies for PEC are determined heavily by clinical practice guidelines (CPGs), which rely on screening for RFs.
