MRI of Caval Compression During Left-Lateral Tilt in Singleton and Twin Pregnancies
( Eur J Anaesthesiol. 2024;41:122–128. doi:10.1097/EJA.0000000000001937) Women with twin pregnancies often undergo cesarean delivery (CD) and have a higher chance of supine hypotension than women with singleton pregnancies, due to the increase in aortocaval compression by a larger gravid uterus. It is usually recommended to use at least 15 degrees left pelvic tilt during CD to avoid aortocaval compression. However, this optimal left-lateral tilt angle practice has recently been questioned, especially for women pregnant with twins.
