Study of the Properties of Asphalt Concrete with the Additive of Ground Tire Rubber and Oil Waste
It is proposed to development of the composition of an asphalt concrete mixture with the addition of oil waste and crushed tire rubber, which has improved physical and mechanical properties. It has been established that when they are introduced into the composition of asphalt concrete in a certain grain composition, they contribute to an increase in the asphalt concrete mixture to a significant decrease in water absorption, an increase in water resistance, as well as resistance to aging under the influence of environmental factors and ultraviolet radiation. Rubber particles contribute to an increase in the proportion of closed porosity in asphalt concrete, which means that the addition of crumb rubber can improve the corrosion resistance of asphalt concrete. The obtained main dependences are presented, which allow to evaluate the influence of oil waste and crushed tire rubber on the properties of asphalt concrete. The authors offer recommendations on the use of crumb rubber and oil waste as an additive in asphalt concrete in hot climates.
