An Unusually Shaped Mastoid Osteoma

Abstract We present a case of osteoma of the mastoid region of the right temporal bone presenting as a single, painless, hard, postauricular mass. Osteomas are benign osteogenic tumors mostly affecting frontal and ethmoidal sinuses. Temporal osteomas are extremely rare with < 150 cases being reported in the literature; within the temporal bone, osteoma rarely affects the mastoid but commonly involves the external auditory meatus, middle ear, and styloid process.
