Lewis acid-catalyzed regiodivergent N-alkylation of indazoles with donor–acceptor cyclopropanes

A regiodivergent N -alkylation of indazoles via the nucleophilic ring opening has been described. Under catalysis with Al(OTf) 3 , kinetic controlled N 2 -alkyl indazoles were obtained, while Co(NTf 2 ) 2 facilitated the formation of N 1 -alkyl indazoles.
